When developers learn new skills from peers and mentors, they get opportunities for employment and professional growth. And then as they become leaders in their field, they can give those same opportunities to a new generation of developers. That’s why we call it a Circle.

We have 8 active Developer Circles in Nigeria with nearly 16,000 members – and plans for many more. With our help, developers can network, share ideas, collaborate on projects, and learn new skills, so they gain the confidence to kickstart their coding project or business.

Empowering female entrepreneurs

We believe that women can achieve more when they have the opportunity to work together. And it’s estimated that businesses set up by women will add ₦19.7 billion[2] to the Nigerian economy over the next 5 years. That’s why we created SheMeansBusiness, an online space for entrepreneurial women to connect, share knowledge, and access training in finance and marketing.

With our partner She Leads Africa, we’re now taking this program directly to female entrepreneurs by hosting SheMeansBusiness training events with educational sessions and networking opportunities, empowering thousands of women across the country.

Promoting innovation is key to sustaining Nigeria’s economic growth. So we have partnered with the CC Hub to open a flagship space in Lagos.

NG_Hub brings together entrepreneurs, developers, and the wider community to collaborate, learn, and exchange ideas. With a virtual reality lab, a creator lab, and a co-working space, it will be a beacon of learning, support and collaboration – so that Nigerians can make the most out of the power of digital to support their personal or professional growth.

Facebook is also partnering with other Hubs across Nigeria – so that entrepreneurs from all corners of the country have the opportunity to make their ideas happen.
